SPECIALTY PRACTICE AREAS
FAMILY OFFICES
The type and scope of personal financial management services are listed below. We interact with accountants and financial advisers in managing the various aspects of our clients’ financial lives.
Pay Bills: In order to ensure that financial obligations are met, we are both reactive (questioning the legitimacy of a bill) and proactive (realizing when a bill is due, long-term care insurance for instance, even though it has not arrived). Bills are verified that they are legitimate and the amounts are correct before payment.
Enter Data and Reconcile Accounts: All financial information must be entered in Quicken to have a complete financial picture. Security transactions will be entered at your discretion; however, cash transactions should be entered to capture dividends, interest, and other financial data. If security transactions are not recorded, the gain or loss in value of the securities for each investment account can be entered on a monthly or quarterly basis for net worth purposes. Next, bank and credit card accounts will be reconciled, thereby ensuring that the numbers can be trusted.
Track Medical Data: We ensure that medical expenses and reimbursements are correct.
Compile Tax Data: We compile tax data for estimated and annual federal, state, and local income tax purposes.
Valuate Assets and Liabilities: We’ll work with you to identify and value assets and liabilities for insurance, estate planning, and net worth purposes. The valuation of assets and liabilities is updated annually or as requested.
Prepare Reports: We’ll provide reports on a monthly, quarterly, annual, or as requested basis.
The ability to share financial information is essential in managing personal finances. Your Quicken file is accessible to both you and designated individuals, such as your CPA and financial advisor.
Since personal finances are a private matter, discretion and data security are of the utmost importance to us.

SOLE PRACTITIONERS
For sole practitioners who use Quicken, we provide the following services. We also provide these same services for those who use QuickBooks. (Please see eQuickBooks.com.)
Professionals need to have a clear picture of their practices’ finances. A complete, accurate, and current set of books is essential. Professionals are often focused on running their practice. More often than not, finances are given short shrift. We’re here to prevent that from happening.
Analyze and Clean Up Quicken Files: With our Quicken expertise, we help you to avoid common mistakes – errors that can lead to incorrect or misleading Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements. Upon completing an analysis we provide:
-
A Written Summary of Our Findings
-
Solutions to Any Issues with Your Quicken File
-
A Synopsis on Improving the Financial Information
We help leverage the full reporting and financial management power of Quicken by analyzing files and then cleaning up data and fixing issues. Cleaning up a file ensures that the data is complete and accurate. Only at this point is Quicken a powerful financial management tool.
Maintain Quicken Files: Data must be complete, accurate, and current. Otherwise, decisions will be made based on flawed financial information. We ensure that all transactions – including APs and ARs – are entered and accounts reconciled in a timely manner. Maintenance services include:
-
Enter Income and Expense Transactions
-
Enter Balance Sheet Transactions
-
Reconcile Bank and Credit Card Accounts
Provide Financial Statements and Reports: Financial statements and reports are the lifeblood in understanding your financial health. Quicken statements will be provided on a monthly, quarterly, or as requested basis. In addition to statements and reports, we will provide Excel spreadsheets whenever they are needed.
The ability to share financial information is essential in managing finances. Your Quicken file is accessible to both you and your CPA.

LivingCare…at the Right Time
Quicken Tutorials: Lessons are given on an individual basis either in person or electronically. Normally, Quicken tutorials are 1½ to 2 hours in length. Most of the tutorial is focused on the conceptual aspects of Quicken. For example, a refund should have the same category as the payment for that item, i.e., a tax refund will use the same category as a tax payment. The mechanical aspects of Quicken, such as how to record a transfer, are easier to explain.
Personalize Quicken Files: LC Quicken is customized for individual users in order to avoid common mistakes. This entails creating needed accounts, including determining the opening balance for these accounts. Another personalized feature is to create scheduled transactions for recurring expenses, such as mortgage payments. These scheduled transactions will appear automatically in LC Quicken on the appointed date.
Financial Coach: We work with our clients on managing their personal finances. (Tax and investment advice is not provided.) The aim is to determine and track your financial health and improve it wherever possible.
Analyze and Clean Up Quicken Files: Quicken files are reviewed to ensure that the financial information is complete and accurate. Cleaning up files should be done on a regular basis. This includes, but is not limited to, the following corrective tasks: fix transactions that are uncategorized or not categorized correctly as well as transactions that haven’t cleared even if it’s a matter of voiding or deleting them as they affect account balances and financial information.
Pay Bills: In order to make sure that financial obligations are met, we are both reactive (questioning the legitimacy of a bill) and proactive (realizing when a bill is due, long-term care insurance for instance, even though the bill has not arrived). We are a provider of financial management services. Apart from ethical responsibilities, the quality of services performed is our highest priority.
DisabledCare QUICKEN
Quicken is the most popular tool to manage personal finances. DisabledCare (DC) Quicken is personalized for the disability community. This version of Quicken is designed to help cognitively disabled users make informed financial decisions on both a daily basis as well as over time. This will help them build a better economic future. Additionally, keeping track of financial information is essential in order to stay within the means test limitations when receiving government assistance.
DC Quicken files are comprised of checking, savings, cash, and credit card accounts along with an ABLE investment account and asset and liability accounts, such as reimbursement and loan accounts.
The pre-created categories are designed for DC Quicken users. Various income categories – earned, unearned, benefits, contributions, gifts – will be included in order to keep track of the types of income to ensure compliance with government requirements, particularly disability benefits and tax laws. Furthermore, disability related expenses, including ABLE qualified expenditures, will be integrated with the standard expense categories.
Income and Expense, Itemized Categories, Medical Expenses and Reimbursements, ABLE Tax Free Disbursements, and Net Worth reports are memorized so that the user only needs to choose the date range when creating the desired report.
